Using dermal fillers to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in Houston

dermal fillers to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in Houston

It happens to the best of us. Over time, our once smooth and unwrinkled skin begins to lose collagen, and with the loss of collagen, the skin loses its firmness and volume. Patients in the Houston area often come to Dr. Seymour Weaver of Dr. W. Dermatology for help regaining a more youthful appearance without invasive, painful, or expensive surgical treatments. Often, patients who have mild to moderate lines and wrinkles can achieve the results they want with dermal fillers, a far less invasive anti-aging treatment.

Dr. W. Dermatology offers a wide range of cosmetic dermatology treatments. From dermal fillers to laser skin tightening, microdermabrasion to the removal of unwanted facial or body hair, Dr. Weaver and his team work with each patient to determine his or her desired results, lifestyle, and budget, in order to develop the best plan for treatment.

What are dermal fillers?

Many patients use dermal fillers such as JuvĂ©derm or Radiesse to add volume to areas of the face where it has been lost. This can plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines or facial folds. The fillers are easily injected into the face – often across the forehead, the “11”s between the eyes, on contours or creases of the face, or on the lips.

How are dermal fillers injected?

At your appointment, Dr. Weaver will once again determine where the filler should be injected and he will then mark the injection sites on your skin. Those areas will be cleaned with an antibacterial cleanser and we may apply a numbing ointment to ensure comfort. Next, the fillers are injected into the skin using a very fine needle. Most patients report the feeling as uncomfortable but tolerable. Depending on the number of injection sites, the entire appointment can take between fifteen minutes and one hour.

Dr. Weaver and his team are committed to providing gentle and respectful care to all of our patients, ensuring that they get the results they want. For more information about dermal fillers or any of the cosmetic dermatology treatments offered by Dr. W. Dermatology, call our office today.
