Nutrition for healthy skin
When you think of good nutrition, don’t forget your skin. There are a number of vitamins and antioxidants that can help your skin stay younger and healthier when incorporated into your diet, applied topically, or both. Here are a few of the best:
  1. Retinoic Acid – A form of Vitamin A, is one of the most popular ingredients in anti-aging skincare products, and with good reason. Clinical studies have shown it to reduce fine lines, rough patches, and age spots.
  2. Vitamins C, Vitamin E, and Selenium – These powerful antioxidants can help protect skin against sun damage. They work by stimulating your body’s natural healing mechanisms.
  3. Coenzyme Q10 – The body naturally produces coenzyme Q10, which stimulates cell growth. With age, the natural levels begin to drop. Studies suggest that topical treatments containing this ingredient improve the appearance of fine wrinkles.
  4. B Vitamins – Supplements or a diet high in B vitamins can benefit cellular health throughout the body, including skin. Research suggests that it may also improve sun damage and wrinkles when used in skin creams.
  5. Flavonoids – Recent research suggests that these antioxidants, which are found in both chocolate and green tea, have many health benefits, including smoother, softer skin.
How lasers are changing the face of cosmetic dermatology
A recent news release by the American Academy of Dermatology highlighted the many ways that laser technology is revolutionizing aesthetic medicine. With an ever growing variety of devices and options, dermatologists have the tools to customize and combine treatments, often addressing multiple skin concerns in a single visit. As lasers evolve they become more precise, so they can accomplish more with less downtime. The combination of these factors has made cosmetic treatment fit easily into today’s busy lifestyle, and more popular than ever.

The AAD also points out a downside to the rapidly growing demand for laser dermatology. That is an increase in unskilled, inexperienced, and even illegally practicing unlicensed providers. Patients may not realize the importance of choosing a trained, experienced, properly credentialed professional. Laser treatment is known as safe and reliable, but that only applies when the device is in highly skilled hands.

Don’t take chances with your health and appearance. If you are considering laser therapy, or other cosmetic treatment, call us for quality you can count on.

Patient Reviews
"I would like to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to each of you on the magnificent work that you have performed on my skin. I have been to many specialists, but have truly been satisfied with the results shown by your careful procedures. Not only have the treatments been successful, but you and your staff have accommodated me in such a way that I feel right at home. Thanks again on a job well done."
